Lake Democrats is a diverse group of broad-minded people who provide opportunities for
Democrats and Independents to come together in the lake area. We work, socialize, volunteer in
the community and support one another in this "red"
part of Virginia.

Meetings
The SML
Democrats meet on the fourth Monday of each month at 12:00 PM usually at West Lake Country Club for lunch. Each third meeting
is held at 7:00 pm at the Moneta Branch of the Bedford Library. Notice to MembershipThe next meeting of the SML Democrats will be at noon on Monday, May 21 at
West Lake Country Club. We will be meeting a week early due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Topic: “How the Middle Class StrengthensGovernment & the Economy The Political Outreach Committee will present a video from The Center for American Progress
followed by table discussion. This video panel is moderated by Ezra Klein and includes an introduction
from former Congressmen David Obey. These videos are produced so that those of us who do not live in or
around DC can be exposed to some of the best Progressive thinkers of our time. It should be an informative and motivating
meeting.
